We are thrilled that you
have chosen to attend Truman State University! Are you ready to start the
journey of becoming a bulldog?
An important step in preparing for your arrival as a new Truman student is to
participate in one of eight Summer Orientation Sessions. During Summer
Orientation, you will develop your fall schedule of classes with the assistance
of an academic advisor. In addition, you will meet at least one faculty member
in your chosen discipline and begin to make friends with other students who will
make up Truman’s graduating class of 2012. Attending Summer Orientation is
required of all new first-year students and there is no additional fee. Parents
are also invited to participate in the parent program during Orientation. Each
session will begin with registration from 8:00 a.m. until 9:45 a.m. with
required activities ending at 4:00 p.m. An optional overnight stay is available
in one of Truman’s air-conditioned residence halls during selected orientation
sessions. There is a fee for this optional overnight experience.
Watch your mail for information about preparing for Summer Orientation. Dates
will fill quickly so don’t delay in choosing your summer orientation session
preference.
